In March, GlobeScan launched our SDG Leadership Series of open, interactive, online collaboration forums on each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Our first Forum, hosted by Unilever, laid the foundations for the whole series with a focus on Partnerships for the Goals (#17). The event started with a video message from CEO Paul Polman and the discussions that followed explored how partnerships can help fund the Goals and scale up social entrepreneurs. The overall learning was that a successful partnership needs a galvanising collective vision, alignment between partners and strong foundations including defined roles and robust project management. Many inspiring examples of partnerships were shared during the online discussions – the challenge now is to learn from these shared experiences, build on best practice and join up progress.
The focus of our second Forum, hosted by Johnson & Johnson, was on SDG #3 – Good Health and Wellbeing. This Forum addressed capacity building and empowering women in the healthcare workforce. The discussions explored tactics and best practice solutions to grow, train and support frontline healthcare workers globally.
Across both of these inaugural events, we were joined by more than 600 people, from business, non-profits, government and academia, across 40+ countries, posting over 2,000 comments.
We are very grateful to all participants and guest contributors who shared their comments, ideas and experience on how we can advance on the Global Goals together. You can read the full dialogue by logging onto the platform of Goal 3 and Goal 17.
