The Role

Are you keen to put your research skills to good use and contribute to a more
sustainable and equitable world? Would you like to be part of a vibrant, global
consultancy with a growing team across five continents?

We are looking for a Research Analyst or Research Executive with 2-3 years’ experience to
join our South Africa team. In collaboration with team members, you will deliver supporting
research components to GlobeScan workstreams and gain exposure to the full research
process to facilitate learning and progression.

You will be working on a diverse range of projects:

  • Interpreting consumer attitudes and behaviours associated with sustainable and
    healthy living.
  • Equipping companies with insights on how to take a positive role beyond business
    imperatives and help them craft transformative business strategies.
  • Helping international NGOs understand and maximize their impact globally.

Our projects are almost all about tackling big international challenges and you will get to
work across global topics and with colleagues around the world, so you can discover
different perspectives and maximize your impact.

In this role you will

  • Independently carry out advanced statistical analysis of survey data as required and prepare charts and graphs and specs for graphic production of advanced analysis charts.
  • Contribute to our wider service offerings including desk research, trends analysis, and benchmarking.
  • Manage client information requests, attend client meetings, take notes and attend presentations.
  • Work alongside experienced consultants to support design approaches and recommendations for leading global brands across a wide range of sectors, impacting their strategy, communications, and purpose.
  • Varied day to day activities including building stakeholder lists, managing fieldwork partners, analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data, report writing, presentations and workshops, and proposal writing.
  • You’ll report to South Africa Principal, who will guide you with career development opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • 2-3 years’ agency or client-side experience in research, analysis or evidencebased consultancy for clients/internal stakeholders.
  • Confidence in analysing, interpreting, and communicating findings from large datasets
  • Experience of data analysis/data visualisation or statistical analysis would be advantageous
  • A collaborative and proactive team player
  • Detail oriented and a commitment to quality
  • Clear and concise written communications; comfortable speaking in-person, via video conference and telephone
  • Strong skills in MS PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluency in English is essential; fluency/good grasp of an additional language is desirable

About You

We are looking for a team member with a solid grounding in research fundamentals and an inquisitive mindset. You will have good attention to detail and be able to manage multiple tasks and work on a range of projects in tandem. You will be comfortable jumping into projects and learning on the go and working with a diverse global team.

This role will suit someone with a strong interest in social and environmental issues and how business can be a positive force in society, though professional experience in this area is not required.
