We are looking for a talented individual to join our San Francisco office in a junior analyst or executive position. The successful candidate will be matched to the appropriate job grade and responsibilities, dependent upon experience level and expertise. Our primary objective is to find a self-motivated, purpose driven individual who will work well in our 3-person San Francisco office and also with our broader team across 5 other offices.

Our projects are varied, interesting and impactful. This role presents the opportunity to be part of a fast-paced, boutique research consultancy applying your research skills and knowledge to support our work to help our clients better understand, engage and communicate with their stakeholders. This role will give you the opportunity to work on a variety of projects under the direction of senior executives, but will allow you to take the lead on smaller ad-hoc assignments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Being an important team member supporting senior executives in the design and execution of quantitative, qualitative and desk research projects, and other stakeholder engagement projects
  • Working on several projects at the same time typically for different clients on different topics
  • Being part global project teams with colleagues in different offices and time zones
  • Managing contact databases
  • Basic data analysis and interpretation
  • Drafting reports and presentations, using visual storytelling
  • Supporting proposal writing
  • Client and supplier relationship management

Skills and Experience

Essential

  • Demonstrable interest in our focus areas and understanding of business and societal issues; willingness to make an impact through your work
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant subject(s)
  • Previous experience in a stakeholder or market research is an advantage, but interest is essential
  • Strong research, numeracy, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Comfort in using technology tools and solutions, with a high proficiency in MS Office Suite (particularly PowerPoint and Excel)
  • Experience and confidence in manipulating large data sets
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex insights succinctly and coherently
  • Comfortable interacting with clients on a regular basis, by email, telephone and face-to-face, and interest in developing further in that area to progress towards consulting and advisory type of client services
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, tenacious attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy & quality
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate complex data in simple yet impactful findings to non-expert audience
  • An enthusiastic and proactive team player with strong interpersonal skills, but able to think creatively and work independently
  • Clear and concise written communications; used to business communications

Desirable (Attributes below will be taken into consideration for matching successful candidate to final job grade and responsibilities)

  • Experience in a market research / insights and strategy environment (agency side)
  • Experience of different research methodologies and approaches that can be used and tailored to meet client’s objectives
  • Master’s degree in relevant subject(s)
  • A good understanding of stakeholder engagement and its importance to business
  • Experience in online digital tools and integration of online analytics to primary research
  • Fluency in at least one foreign language would be an advantage

  • Familiarity with GDPR (data privacy and data protection regulations)
  • Exceptional communications skills, including tactful negotiation and supplier management skills
  • Impeccable organizational skills
  • Line management experience

Desirable

  • A Master’s degree
  • A social research background is a definite plus
  • Fluency in at least one foreign language would be an advantage
