The Role

Are you keen to put your research skills to good use and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable world? Would you like to be part of a vibrant, global consultancy with a growing team across five continents?

We are looking for a Research Analyst to support our busy Toronto team. Our projects are varied, interesting and impactful. This role at GlobeScan presents the opportunity to be involved in a wide range of activities.

Key Responsibilities

Tasks will vary, ranging from assisting the research team on client reports and presentations, desk research and interpretation of quantitative and qualitative data, charting, data coding and proofing, to stakeholder mapping and database management.

About You

We are looking for a team member with a solid grounding in research fundamentals and an inquisitive mindset. This role will suit someone with a strong interest in social and environmental issues and how business can be a positive force in society, though professional experience in this area is not essential.  You are a highly effective communicator, energetic and organised.

Key Requirements

  • Completed university/college degree in a related field (such as social sciences, consumer psychology, sustainability/corporate responsibility, business, marketing, etc.)
  • 1 to 2 years’ business experience ideally on social issues, brand and communications, or reputation
  • Detail oriented and a commitment to quality
  • Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate findings from data
  • Clear and concise written communications
  • A proactive team player but able to think and work independently
  • Strong proficiency in MS PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluency in English is essential; fluency/good grasp of additional languages is a bonus

The Role

Are you keen to put your research skills to good use and contribute to a more sustainable and equitable world? Would you like to be part of a vibrant, global consultancy with a growing team across five continents?

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our busy Toronto team, with a focus on managing custom quantitative and qualitative research studies, while also being involved in secondary desk research, and advisory work.

In this role, you will manage a diverse range of research projects across different practice areas and clients. You will be a ‘hands on’ project manager – liaising with clients, analysing data, producing reports and presentations, developing strategy, coordinating with other team members, and ensuring that best practice is always achieved. Your work will include interpreting attitudes and behaviours associated with sustainability and reputation/trust building, equipping companies with insight on how to take a positive role on social and environmental issues, and helping international NGOs understand and maximise their impact globally.

In this role you will:

  • Take a leading role on qualitative and quantitative studies from design to delivery, supported by collaborative and experienced team members;
  • Be responsible for client communications and management, helping to build accounts and foster relationships;
  • Work alongside experienced consultants to design approaches and build recommendations for leading global brands across a wide range of sectors, impacting their strategy, communications and purpose;
  • Gain experience of other approaches, including stakeholder research, trends analysis, and sustainability consulting;
  • Varied day to day activities including managing fieldwork partners, analysis and interpretation of data, report writing, presentations, workshops, and proposal writing;
  • You’ll report into one of our Associate Directors, who will guide you with career development and opportunities.

About You

We are looking for a team member with solid skills in quantitative research, who has the initiative and confidence to drive projects forward. This role will suit someone with a strong interest in social and environmental issues and how business can be a positive force in society, though professional experience in this area is not essential.

Key Requirements

  • 2 to 3 years’ experience of managing research programs, ideally on social issues, brand and communications, or reputation
  • A collaborative and proactive team player
  • Demonstrable project management skills and strong attention to detail
  • Confidence in analysing, interpreting and communicating findings from large datasets
  • Clear and concise written communications; comfortable speaking in-person, via video conference and telephone
  • Strong skills in MS PowerPoint and Excel
  • Fluency in English is essential; fluency/good grasp of additional languages is a bonus
