Reforesting around the World with One Tree Planted

One Tree Planted - Planting with Purpose to Create a Forest Built on Stakeholder Research

GlobeScan conducts tens of thousands of interviews with stakeholders around the world each year for our clients and through our partnership with One Tree Planted, we have chosen to encourage stakeholders to participate in our research by planting trees in return for their valuable time.

As we celebrate Earth Month, we are pleased to announce that in collaboration with One Tree Planted, we have planted over 25,000 trees, helping to impact reforestation all around the world.

Reforestation supports all 17 of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, improves the climate, and creates an opportunity for communities across the planet.

Trees play a vital role in creating clean air and water, a healthy climate, and providing habitats for wildlife. The reforestation projects we have supported help environmental conservation and protect biodiversity habitat.

Some of the recent projects we have supported are:

  • The Climate Smart Agro-Forestry project with the Rainforest Alliance will plant 500,000 trees in coffee regions of West Java (150,000 trees), Banten (150,000 trees), and Lampung (200,000 trees), accelerating the ecological benefits of climate-smart practices for sustainably grown coffee, all while providing social and economic benefits to the local communities.
  • The Campfire Restoration project in Northern California with Powell Restoration will be planting 867,500 trees across 1400 hectares of post wildfire landscape. Most of these private lands were burned by the Camp Fire of 2018. The Camp Fire was the deadliest and most destructive wildfire in California’s history.
  • The High Andes Polylepis Forest project with Global Forest Generation is a Latin-led initiative to protect and restore one million hectares of high Andean native forest ecosystems, particularly Polylepis tree species, over twenty-five years. The restoration approach is to build and support a partnership of local conservation and community on-the-ground leaders focused on restoring native forest ecosystems at regional scales.
