Planting with Purpose to Create a Forest Built on Stakeholder Research

GlobeScan - One Tree Planted partnershipGlobeScan is delighted to announce a new partnership with One Tree Planted, an environmental charity with a focus on global reforestation. As an insights and strategy consultancy, we conduct tens of thousands of interviews with stakeholders around the world each year for our clients and we have chosen to incentivize stakeholders to participate in our research by planting trees in return for their valuable time.
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide habitat to over 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity. Forests provide jobs to over 1.6 billion people, absorb harmful carbon from the atmosphere, and are key ingredients in 25% of all medicines. In short, they are critical for an equitable and sustainable future.
In a recent article by The Guardian, new research estimates that a worldwide planting programme could remove two-thirds of all the emissions that have been pumped into the atmosphere by human activities, a figure scientists describe as “mind-blowing”.
The potential for global forest cover is documented in an article by Science magazine highlighting that the restoration of trees remains among the most effective strategies for climate change mitigation but also highlights the urgent need for action.
Chris Coulter, GlobeScan CEO, said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with One Tree Planted and to integrate tree planting into our business model. We hope that the key opinion formers and influential stakeholders we engage as part of our work to help our clients become more trusted leaders will appreciate that in return for their taking part in a survey or an interview, we will be planting dozens of trees. Our goal is to plant one million trees by 2030.”
